We all enjoyed the SUMMER 2012 MEMBERSHIP MEETING in August at Darrel DeBoer's place in El Sobrante. The program included (1) a presentation by Massey Burke on the utilization of small locally-grown bamboos in construction and an update on the progress she has made in her book on the subject (funded in part by an NCCABS grant); and (2) a look at Darrel's fledgling bamboo forest. Some members gathered bamboo seeds from flowering bamboos, and all visited with other bambuseros, had a potluck lunch and enjoyed the afternoon.
